Latest release on GitHub ↗Let your AI handle setup.
Copy the prompt into an AI with access to your computer. It downloads SuperChrome and guides you through installation.
You may need to complete the browser’s “Load unpacked” step. Save also needs a local helper; the prompt includes its setup.

Install the latest stable SuperChrome release in Chrome and/or Brave on this computer. Detect my OS and installed browsers. Use supported browser UI and follow your tool approval requirements; give me exact short instructions for steps you cannot perform. 1. Resolve the latest stable release from https://api.github.com/repos/jdjuan/SuperChrome/releases/latest. Download SuperChrome.zip and SHA256SUMS.txt from that SAME release, pinned to its tag, rather than mixing files from different releases. Verify SHA-256 before using the archive, and inspect the manifest and bundled sources. Public source: https://github.com/jdjuan/SuperChrome. No GitHub login is needed. 2. Extract to a permanent user-owned folder. If SuperChrome is already installed, back up its folder and replace extension files IN PLACE. Do not uninstall, clear browser storage or change its manifest key. Preserve the extension ID and existing settings. Do not overwrite unrelated files. 3. Open chrome://extensions or brave://extensions. For a new installation enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the SuperChrome folder containing manifest.json. For an update, reload the existing extension. Help me finish these UI actions if your tools cannot perform them. Pin SuperChrome and refresh affected website tabs. Verify the loaded version matches the release and its ID is unchanged, not just the files on disk. 4. For Save video downloads, use Save → Copy Prompt for the self-contained local helper setup, or helper-setup.txt from that same GitHub release. The ZIP includes helper/host.py. Set up Python 3, yt-dlp, FFmpeg and native messaging for my OS/browsers; verify the actual extension ID and test the helper connection. Preserve existing working helper registrations. Follow your tool approval requirements. No browser credentials, cookies or security setting changes are needed. Do not start a video download without my choice. 5. Explain remaining manual steps, future updates and uninstall. The extension checks GitHub for updates and offers Copy update prompt; it does not automatically install updates. Other tools work without the download helper.

How do updates work?
SuperChrome checks GitHub for newer releases and offers Copy update prompt. Your AI can replace the files in place and guide the browser reload. Updates are not installed automatically. Your settings remain in the browser.
What does the download helper install?
Save uses a local Python helper with yt-dlp and FFmpeg. Your AI sets up the dependencies and registers the helper with your browser. Feed, Stats, Films and Brave do not need it. Only download media you have permission to save.
Can I undo a change?
Yes. Uncheck a feed, restore a hidden element, or turn off popup protection. To remove SuperChrome, use your browser’s extensions page. The optional helper is removed separately using the setup instructions.
What can the extension access?
SuperChrome runs on websites to apply saved hiding rules and popup controls. It stores preferences locally. Save passes a selected video URL to the local helper, which contacts that video service. The update check contacts GitHub without sending your settings or page URLs. There is no SuperChrome account or hosted download server. This website uses the site’s existing analytics for installation interactions.
